Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be upon Muhammad Sallahu alaihi wasallam, his family and his companion.
It's getting so close now, that it's tomorrow. Part of me is excited, but the other part of me really does not want to turn 23 tomorrow. There's just so many things that I have not done for the ummah, for my family and for my friends.
As a Muslim, we have a huge responsibility to carry. We sometimes forgot about this that we only focus on our studies, families and friends. Believe it or not, all the things that we do in this world is the things that Allah has lined for us, and they are islamic-friendly chores. It is just a matter of whether or not we decide it to be islamic or not.
For example, dressing up. When dressing up, it is often our intention to look smart and good so that we can please ourselves and others. We put on multiple creams and foundations and wear pretty clothes to class. And we stop at that.-- Which is so not the end!
It is not wrong to look good, it is in fact a sunnah! but in order for us to get the pahala that we longed for, we have to first put Allah as our niah!
From the 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, radiya'llahu 'anhu, that he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), saying, "Actions are only by intentions, and every man has only that which he intended. Whoever's emigration is for Allah and His Messenger then his emigration is for Allah and His Messenger. Whoever's emigration is for some worldly gain which he can acquire or a woman he will marry then his emigration is for that for which he emigrated'." [As narrated by Bukhari & Muslim]
When we have Allah as the foundation of our actions, we will then practice what our Rasul (praise and blessings be upon Him) has preach us. For example, start with our right cheek before the left when putting cream or foundation, Bismillah when putting on our aurat-covering clothes and not overdoing it because it'll cause tabarruj.
It is the intention of this post to remind myself as well as those reading this post, that in the things we do, we need to understand that this life, the things that we do and wish to pursue in this life, has no different in the things Allah wants us to do. Therefore, when you do not know whether you are doing a right thing or not, you can always think about Allah and see whether He'll approve your actions. If you have doubts about it, it is better to leave it behind and focus on the things that you surely know He will approve.
See Islam is that easy. And getting pahala is even easier! :)
For now, let's stop at this.I wish everyone well in the things you do. Remember, Allah is with us!
P/S: Things have been really busy these few weeks that I was not able to document the things I did. But inshAllah, I'm setting a goal to at least write once a week. Pray that I am able to do so :)
